I believe that if we are unashamed of the Christ of whom we talk, we Christians should talk about him shamelessly. Not that I think we should talk about him insensitively – that’s a different kettle of fish altogether. But for those who want to hear about him from someone who knows him, I want to make him known and invite you to reach out and meet him.
It is hard to hit upon a concise definition of our faith that would 100% correspond with every single Christian’s precise understanding of who Christ is – the Christian faith is one of those things that is beautifully simple but has profound ramifications at the same time. However, this is one of the simplest and most accessible definitions I know: http://www.matthiasmedia.com.au/2wtl/
If you want to find out more or become a Christian, have a chat with a Christian you know – and if you feel brave, ask them if they’d consider going through a book of the Bible with you, because the Bible is the lowest common denominator of all authentic Christian beliefs. The good news is that if you don’t know any Christians, you’re almost sure to find one in a church on a Sunday morning. Find someone who looks approachable and introduce yourself – if they really love God with all their heart, soul, mind and strength, and love their neighbour as themselves, which are according to Jesus the greatest commandments in the whole Bible – then they should want to make you welcome.
